Description

The Mistletoe Margarita Mocktail is a festive, non-alcoholic holiday drink that combines tart cranberry and lime flavors with a zero-proof spirit alternative, complemented by sweet orange and agave notes. This refreshing mocktail is beautifully rimmed with sugar and coconut and garnished with fresh cranberries, lime, and rosemary, making it a perfect seasonal sip for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Mocktail:

  • 2 ounces zero-proof spirit alternative (or your chosen non-alcoholic base)
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce cranberry juice
  • ½ ounce non-alcoholic orange liqueur alternative or orange syrup
  • ½ ounce agave nectar or simple syrup (adjust to your sweetness preference)
  • Ice

For the Rim (Optional but Recommended):

  • Granulated Sugar
  • Green Sanding Sugar
  • Flaked Coconut

For Garnish:

  • Fresh Cranberries
  • Lime Wedges or Wheels
  • Fresh Rosemary Sprigs

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Glassware: Take a shallow plate and pour a small amount of agave nectar or lime juice onto it. On another shallow plate, spread out your choice of rimming sugar—granulated, green sanding sugar, or flaked coconut. Dip the rim of your serving glass (coupe or margarita glass recommended) into the liquid first, then gently dip it into the sugar, twisting to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
  2. Combine Ingredients in Shaker: In a cocktail shaker, add the zero-proof spirit alternative, fresh lime juice, cranberry juice, non-alcoholic orange liqueur alternative or orange syrup, and agave nectar or simple syrup, combining all the flavors.
  3. Add Ice and Shake: Fill the cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until well chilled and mixed.
  4. Strain and Serve: Remove the lid from the shaker and strain the Mistletoe Margarita mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with Festive Flair: Float several fresh cranberries atop the drink. Add a lime wedge or wheel on the rim or inside the glass. Tuck a small sprig of fresh rosemary into the drink or attach it to the glass rim for a holiday touch.
  6. Enjoy Immediately: Serve your Mistletoe Margarita mocktail right away to enjoy its fresh and vibrant flavors and impress your guests.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for the best bright, tart flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of agave nectar or simple syrup to taste.
  • The rim can be customized with different sugars or coconut flakes to match your holiday decor.
  • For a batch cocktail, multiply ingredients accordingly and shake in batches.
  • Ensure the zero-proof spirit alternative suits your taste preferences, such as non-alcoholic tequila or other complementary bases.
