Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 8 ounces Cabot Pepper Jack Cheese, shredded
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 4 ounces can diced jalapenos, drained
- ½ teaspoon salt
Dough and Topping
- 16 ounces crescent roll dough (two 8-ounce cans)
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for baking the crescent rolls.
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded Pepper Jack cheese, softened cream cheese, drained diced jalapenos, and salt. Stir everything together until fully blended to create a creamy, spicy filling.
- Prepare the Crescent Dough: Roll out both cans of crescent roll dough on a flat surface and press the perforations together to form two large sheets.
- Spread the Filling: Evenly spread the cheese and jalapeno mixture over the entire surface of the pressed crescent roll dough sheets.
- Roll the Dough: Starting with the short side of the dough, tightly roll up each crescent dough sheet over the filling to form two rolls.
- Slice the Rolls: Using a serrated knife, cut each roll into 8 slices, each about 1 inch thick, yielding 16 rolls in total.
- Arrange in Baking Dish: Grease a 9 inch by 13 inch baking dish and place the rolled slices spaced evenly inside the dish.
- Make Garlic Butter Topping: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the garlic powder. Brush this garlic butter mixture evenly over the tops of the crescent rolls.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 28-30 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing.
- Drain jalapenos well to prevent soggy dough.
- Pressing the crescent dough perforations together ensures a solid sheet that holds the filling better.
- Use a serrated knife to slice the rolls smoothly without squishing them.
- Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
- Optional: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or green onions for extra color.
