Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken Breast recipe combines tender, juicy chicken breasts with a savory and sweet sauce made from garlic, soy sauce, and honey. Cooked on the stovetop for a quick yet flavorful meal, it’s perfect for a wholesome dinner in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 large chicken breasts

Sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon oil (optional, for searing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare and sear the chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add oil if desired for searing. Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until they develop a golden brown crust. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté the garlic and make the sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then add the soy sauce and honey, stirring well to combine all the flavors into a smooth sauce.
  3. Simmer chicken in sauce: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet. Lower the heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, flipping the chicken occasionally to ensure even cooking and to allow the sauce to thicken and coat the chicken thoroughly. Ensure the chicken is fully cooked before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, marinate the chicken breasts in soy sauce and honey for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
  • You can add a pinch of black pepper or red pepper flakes to spice up the sauce if desired.
  • Serve this dish with steamed rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
