Fudgesicle Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or flavored)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust for desired sweetness)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- Optional: 1/4 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, or cashew)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your bananas are ripe for maximum natural sweetness which will enhance the fudgesicle flavor.
- Blend Mixture: In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe bananas, Greek yogurt, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, ensuring all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Add Nut Butter: If you choose to add nut butter, pour it into the blender and blend again until the nut butter is thoroughly mixed into the fudgesicle base, adding extra creaminess and flavor.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste the mixture and, if needed, adjust the sweetness by adding a little more honey or maple syrup according to your preference, then give it another quick blend to combine.
- Pour into Molds: Carefully pour the blended mixture into popsicle molds, filling each approximately 3/4 full to allow for expansion as they freeze.
- Insert Sticks: Place sticks into the molds if your mold design requires them, making sure they stand upright and centered.
- Freeze: Place the filled molds in the freezer. Freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the fudgesicles to solidify completely.
- Remove and Enjoy: To release the fudgesicles, briefly run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds. Gently pull the fudgesicles free and enjoy your healthy, homemade frozen treat!
