Description

These Healthy Fudgesicles are a delicious and nutritious frozen treat made with ripe bananas, creamy Greek yogurt, rich cocoa powder, and natural sweeteners. They’re easy to prepare, naturally sweetened, and perfect for a guilt-free dessert or snack on a hot day.

Ingredients

Scale

Fudgesicle Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or flavored)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust for desired sweetness)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1/4 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, or cashew)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your bananas are ripe for maximum natural sweetness which will enhance the fudgesicle flavor.
  2. Blend Mixture: In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe bananas, Greek yogurt, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, ensuring all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Add Nut Butter: If you choose to add nut butter, pour it into the blender and blend again until the nut butter is thoroughly mixed into the fudgesicle base, adding extra creaminess and flavor.
  4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the mixture and, if needed, adjust the sweetness by adding a little more honey or maple syrup according to your preference, then give it another quick blend to combine.
  5. Pour into Molds: Carefully pour the blended mixture into popsicle molds, filling each approximately 3/4 full to allow for expansion as they freeze.
  6. Insert Sticks: Place sticks into the molds if your mold design requires them, making sure they stand upright and centered.
  7. Freeze: Place the filled molds in the freezer. Freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the fudgesicles to solidify completely.
  8. Remove and Enjoy: To release the fudgesicles, briefly run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds. Gently pull the fudgesicles free and enjoy your healthy, homemade frozen treat!

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas for natural sweetness and better texture.
  • Greek yogurt can be plain or flavored, depending on your taste preference.
  • If vegan, substitute Greek yogurt with a plant-based yogurt and use maple syrup instead of honey.
  • Adjust sweetness according to your preference by varying honey or maple syrup.
  • For creamier fudgesicles, adding nut butter is optional but recommended.
  • Freeze fudgesicles overnight for the best texture and firmness.
  • Running warm water over molds helps release the fudgesicles easily without damage.
