Description

These Hawaiian Roast Beef Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make party favorite featuring sweet King’s Hawaiian rolls filled with savory shredded roast beef and American cheese. Topped with a flavorful garlic mayonnaise spread and a buttery brown sugar glaze, then baked to golden perfection, these sliders are perfect for gatherings or a tasty snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 pkg 12 count King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 2 cups shredded roast beef
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • 3 Tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder or garlic paste

Butter Glaze and Toppings

  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds or sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes (optional)
  • 2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350℉. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by spraying it with cooking spray or lining it with aluminum foil or parchment paper to allow easy removal of the sliders after baking.
  2. Slice Rolls: Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls lengthwise so that the top half remains one piece and the bottom half remains another.
  3. Prepare Garlic Mayo: In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the mayonnaise and garlic powder or garlic paste. Evenly spread this garlic mayo mixture over the bottom half of the sliced rolls.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Layer the shredded roast beef evenly over the mayo-spread bottom buns. Then place the American cheese slices on top of the roast beef. Cover the assembled layers with the top half of the buns.
  5. Make Butter Glaze: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan. Whisk in the brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard until well combined. Generously brush this buttery mixture over the top of the bun slab. Optionally, sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds for added texture and flavor.
  6. Bake Covered: Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. This allows the cheese to melt and ingredients to meld.
  7. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and bake the sliders uncovered for an additional 5 minutes, until the tops are golden and bubbly.
  8. Rest and Serve: Let the sliders rest for a couple of minutes after baking to help the layers set and keep the roast beef intact. Transfer the sliders to a cutting board and cut into individual sandwiches.
  9. Garnish (Optional): Optionally sprinkle the sliders with parsley flakes and grated Parmesan cheese for an extra pop of flavor before serving. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Using freshly shredded roast beef ensures the best flavor and texture, but leftover roast beef can be used as well.
  • For a sharper flavor, substitute American cheese with cheddar or Swiss cheese.
  • To make ahead, you can assemble the sliders and refrigerate them before baking; increase baking time slightly when baking straight from the fridge.
  • Optional toppings like poppy seeds or sesame seeds add a subtle crunch and visual appeal.
  • If you prefer, you can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • These sliders are best served warm but can also be reheated in a covered pan to maintain moistness.
