Description
Delicious and refreshing Chocolate Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Bites that combine creamy Greek yogurt, fresh strawberries, and a decadent drizzle of melted chocolate. These bite-sized treats are perfect for a healthy snack or dessert and are easy to prepare with just a few ingredients and a bit of freezing time.
Ingredients
Scale
Yogurt Mixture
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (or any yogurt of your choice)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
Fruit
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
Chocolate Topping
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional for melting chocolate)
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries: Wash and hull the strawberries thoroughly. Slice them into thin pieces and set aside to be used in the bites.
- Mix the Yogurt: In a mixing bowl, combine the plain Greek yogurt with honey or maple syrup. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
- Prepare the Molds: Line a mini muffin tin or silicone molds with cupcake liners, or lightly spray them with cooking spray to prevent sticking of the yogurt mixture.
- Add Yogurt Mixture: Spoon a small amount of the yogurt mixture into each mold, filling about halfway to allow space for the strawberries and topping.
- Add Strawberries: Place a thin slice of strawberry on top of the yogurt in each mold. Gently press down so they adhere to the yogurt base.
- Top with Yogurt: Add more yogurt mixture over the strawberries until the molds are filled to the top, smoothing the surface gently.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips with coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Drizzle Chocolate: Using a spoon or piping bag, drizzle the melted chocolate evenly over the filled yogurt molds, adding an elegant chocolate finish.
- Freeze: Place the filled molds in the freezer. Freeze for 2-3 hours or until the bites are completely solid and firm to the touch.
- Serve: Once frozen solid, carefully remove the frozen yogurt bites from the molds. Enjoy immediately or store them in an airtight container in the freezer for later snacking.
Notes
- You can substitute plain Greek yogurt with any yogurt of your choice, including dairy-free options.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey or maple syrup according to your taste preference.
- If you do not have silicone molds or a mini muffin tin, use an ice cube tray as an alternative.
- The coconut oil helps the chocolate stay smooth when melted, but it is optional.
- Store the frozen bites in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week for best freshness.
