Ingredients
Scale
Homemade Pizza Dough
- 3/4 cup warm water (100 to 105 degrees F.)
- 3/4 tablespoon honey (or granulated sugar)
- 3/4 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3/4 tablespoon instant yeast
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- OR 12 ounces pre-made pizza dough
Pizza Roll Filling
- 8 ounces Mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
- Pizza toppings of your choice: pepperoni, ham, veggies, pineapple, etc.
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- Pizza sauce and/or ranch dressing for dipping
Instructions
- Prepare Dough: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate or 9×9-inch square baking dish and set aside. In the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine the warm water, honey, vegetable oil, instant yeast, and salt. Add the flour gradually and mix until a soft dough forms that pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Knead the dough for 3 minutes using the stand mixer.
- Rest and Roll Dough: Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes. After resting, roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into a 14×12-inch rectangle. Cut the dough into 16 equal squares.
- Fill Pizza Rolls: Place small cubes of mozzarella and desired pizza toppings onto each dough square, being careful not to overfill. Fold the four corners of each square over the filling and pinch together tightly to seal, forming a ball.
- Arrange and Season: Place each filled dough ball seam side down into the prepared baking dish. Brush the tops with olive oil, then sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Bake the stuffed pizza rolls in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy them warm with pizza sauce, ranch dressing, or your favorite dips.
Notes
- You can use pre-made pizza dough to save time instead of making your own.
- Feel free to customize the fillings with any toppings you like, such as vegetables, cooked sausage, or different cheeses.
- Make sure not to overfill the rolls to prevent dough from tearing and filling leaking out during baking.
- Using a stand mixer with a dough hook helps to achieve the perfect dough consistency and kneading.
- Allowing the dough to rest makes it easier to roll and shape the pizza rolls.
- Serve warm for best flavor and texture; leftovers can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
