Ingredients
Scale
Shrimp Mixture
- 1 lb fresh or frozen shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Bread
- 1 baguette or ciabatta loaf, sliced into 1-inch thick pieces
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and slice the bread into 1-inch thick pieces to prepare for toasting.
- Sauté Shrimp: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- Combine Cheese and Shrimp: Remove the shrimp from heat and mix them in a bowl with shredded mozzarella, cheddar cheese, and fresh lemon juice until well combined.
- Assemble Toasts: Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet. Generously top each slice with the cheesy shrimp mixture, spreading evenly.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese melts and the topping becomes golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish each toast with chopped fresh parsley for brightness, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use fresh shrimp for best flavor, but frozen works fine if thawed properly.
- For extra crispiness, toast the bread slices lightly before topping.
- Adjust lemon juice to taste for desired brightness.
- Can be served as an appetizer, snack, or light meal.
- Substitute cheeses as preferred; a blend of sharp cheddar works well.
