Description

This Baileys Chocolate Cheesecake Trifle is a decadent, no-bake layered dessert combining rich chocolate cake, creamy Baileys-infused cheesecake, luscious chocolate pudding, and fluffy whipped cream. Perfect for special occasions or an indulgent treat, this trifle offers a harmonious blend of textures and flavors supported by a simple assembly process requiring no baking beyond the cake preparation.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Cake Layer

  • 1 box chocolate cake, baked & cubed
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream

Cheesecake Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup whipped cream (plus extra for layering)
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream (incorporated in cheesecake mixture above)

Other Layers & Toppings

  • 2 cups chocolate pudding, prepared
  • Chocolate shavings or chips, for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheesecake mixture: In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Fold in whipped cream: Gently fold 1 cup of whipped cream into the cheesecake mixture to create a light, fluffy texture.
  3. Layer the trifle – first layer: Using a trifle dish, place half of the cubed chocolate cake on the bottom. Drizzle half of the Baileys Irish Cream over the cake to moisten it.
  4. Add pudding layer: Spoon half of the prepared chocolate pudding evenly over the cake layer.
  5. Add cheesecake layer: Spread half of the Baileys chocolate cheesecake mixture over the pudding layer.
  6. Add whipped cream layer: Add a layer of whipped cream over the cheesecake mixture.
  7. Repeat layers: Repeat the layers by adding the remaining chocolate cake cubes, drizzling the remaining Baileys Irish Cream, followed by the remaining chocolate pudding, remaining cheesecake mixture, and finishing with another layer of whipped cream.
  8. Top with chocolate: Garnish the top with chocolate shavings or chocolate chips for a decorative and flavorful finish.
  9. Chill before serving: Refrigerate the assembled trifle for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set well before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use a high-quality chocolate cake from scratch or a boxed mix.
  • The Baileys can be adjusted to taste or substituted with another cream liqueur.
  • Ensure cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps in the cheesecake mixture.
  • This dessert can be prepared a day in advance, making it perfect for entertaining.
  • To keep cake moist without too much Baileys, avoid soaking excessively.
  • Use fresh whipped cream or stabilized whipped cream for more structure.
