Ingredients
Scale
For the Burgers
- 1 Pound Ground Beef
- 6 Sesame Seed Buns
- 4 Slices American Cheese
- 4 Tablespoons Special Sauce (see below)
- 4 Teaspoons Onion (Finely Diced)
- 1 Cup Shredded Lettuce
- 8 Dill Pickle Slices
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
For the Special Sauce
- ¼ Cup Miracle Whip
- ¼ Cup Mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoons French Dressing
- ½ Tablespoon Sweet Relish
- 2 Teaspoons Dill Pickle Relish
- 1 Teaspoon Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Minced Onion (Dried)
- 1 Teaspoon White Vinegar
- 1 Teaspoon Ketchup
- â…› Teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Special Sauce: In a small bowl, combine Miracle Whip, mayonnaise, French dressing, sweet relish, dill pickle relish, sugar, dried minced onion, white vinegar, ketchup, and salt. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended. Set aside to allow flavors to meld.
- Form and Cook the Patties: Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape each into thin patties slightly larger than your buns, seasoning both sides with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat, then cook the patties approximately 2-3 minutes per side until fully cooked and browned.
- Toast the Buns: While the patties cook, slice the sesame seed buns. Lightly toast all bun halves in a separate pan or toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the Burgers: Spread a tablespoon of the special sauce on the bottom bun, sprinkle with some diced onions and shredded lettuce, add a cooked beef patty, then place a slice of American cheese on top. Add a middle bun layer and repeat spreading sauce, lettuce, onions, and pickle slices. Place the second beef patty on top, finish with more special sauce on the top bun, and close the sandwich.
- Serve: Serve the Big Mac immediately while warm, optionally accompanied by fries or your preferred side.
Notes
- Use freshly ground beef for best flavor and juiciness.
- The special sauce can be prepared ahead and refrigerated for up to a week.
- For a stronger onion flavor, increase the diced onions slightly or add raw onion slices.
- Make sure patties are thin for authentic Big Mac texture and to fit buns properly.
- Feel free to substitute Miracle Whip and mayonnaise with all mayonnaise if preferred.
